Course Information
The GQA Level 5 NVQ Certificate Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations - Planning Lifts (Construction) has been developed for delivery in a Construction related working environment. This NVQ qualification is made up of 7 mandatory units and requires candidates to demonstrate, in a real workplace environment, competence against a set of performance criteria and an understanding of the theoretical aspects of the role and assocaited tasks.
Entry Requirements
This NVQ is ideal for those responsible for planning and controlling lifting operations. Applicants should have completed the CPCS A61 Appointed Persons (Lifting Operations) or NPORS Appointed Person (N401) course and hold a valid Red Trained Operator card.
Course Topics
This Level 5 NVQ includes the following mandatory units:
Planning lifting activities using cranes and/or lifting equipment in the workplace.
Planning and establishing health, safety, welfare and environmental systems for lifting operations in the workplace.
Planning work activities and resources to meet work requirements in the workplace.
Evaluating and selecting work methods to meet project or operation in the workplace.
Planning the preparation of the site for the project or operation in the workplace.
Identifying, allocating and planning the deployment and use of plant, equipment or machinery in the workplace.
Developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships in the workplace.
Assessment & Exams
To pass the NVQ, you must provide the required evidence for each unit.
Once you have completed all the units, an assessor will review your portfolio and give feedback.
