Course Content

Mix of Theory & Practical Assesment
• Asbestos Rules & Responsibilities – What the law says, what counts as licensed vs non-licensed work
• Different Asbestos Types – How to spot them and know what’s dangerous
• Typical Jobs That Might Disturb Asbestos – So you know when to stop and follow procedure
• Keeping Safe – Using the right gear (PPE & RPE), checking air quality, stopping dust
• Waste Handling – How to pack it up, seal it, and get rid of it properly
• Hands-On Practice – Learn how to put on/take off gear, try out a simulated removal, and write up a risk assessment/Plan of Work

Assessment Includes:
• A short written test
• Practical tasks 

By the End, You’ll Be Able To:

• Know the legal do’s and don’ts around asbestos
• Recognise different asbestos materials and understand the risks
• Know which work needs to be licensed or just reported
• Use protective equipment the right way
• Write basic Risk Assessments and Plans of Work
• Control the risks when working with asbestos
• Safely deal with asbestos waste on-site

What You Need to Take Part

• Before You Start: You’ll need a valid UKATA Asbestos Awareness certificate
• Bring With You: Hard hat, safety boots, and a hi-vis vest or coat
• We Provide: Disposable coveralls and FFP2/FFP3 masks during the course
